This report documents a projected outcome of the mechanisms established in the Biological Lock, Developmental Friction, and the Institutional Trap. A reader unfamiliar with those findings should treat this page as their consequence, not as an independent diagnosis. 

What Consolidated — and What Did Not

By adulthood, cortical consolidation is largely complete.

Synaptic pruning has reduced unused pathways.

Plasticity remains, but foundational arbitration circuits are fixed.

In this subject:

• The Anterior Cingulate Cortex (ACC) never stabilized as a conflict-holding system.

• Prefrontal–limbic tension resolved early through external arbitration.

• Ambiguity was consistently terminated before endogenous regulation was required.

Why Thought Requires External Rails

In periods of change, they are non-adaptive.

They persist as Evolutionary Ghosts:

present in number,

absent in agency. 

This page deliberately adopts the voice of a completed clinical finding. Before the conclusion, it is worth separating what current evidence directly supports from what this project is inferring from that evidence.

What is established: Synaptic pruning intensifies during adolescence and continues into early adulthood, with unused pathways eliminated rather than merely weakened, a well-documented pattern in the neuroscience literature. The Anterior Cingulate Cortex and Prefrontal Cortex depend on active engagement during development for their ordinary trajectory. Separately, randomized controlled research has found that AI assistance which completes a task before a person struggles with it can measurably reduce later retention and understanding, including Shen and Tamkin's 2026 study of professional software developers and Bastani et al.'s 2025 study of high school mathematics students. A related EEG study found the weakest neural connectivity among participants who wrote with AI assistance, alongside a documented gap between their confidence and their actual recall. 

What is this project's own synthesis: the specific adult portrait on this page, an ACC that never stabilized, a Void of Authorship, a Point of No Return presented as a completed and irreversible outcome, is this project's own forensic extension of those findings. No study has followed a cohort of AI-raised adolescents into adulthood and measured this outcome. 

That extension is built from established mechanisms, but it remains a forecast rather than a documented clinical outcome. The Coroner's Verdict below should therefore be read as this project's forensic interpretation of where the current evidence could lead, not as a case that has already been observed.
